Musing from a contemplative mind....
Adding cocca to my coffee
So I am at church and I am getting a cup of coffee (because I only got 12 hours of sleep in three days) and I am approached by Ellen. Ellen is a girl in her thirties I think. (apparently she and I went to HS together for like a year, but because my school was just that huge I never knew her, or saw her) I don't know this to be the case but it appears that Ellen is mentally challenged, or just plain old simple. When you have a conversation with her she is in either one of two modes. She is either on a three min loop, where she repeats the same information over and over again or she is in monolouge mode where she could possibliy just talk non stop for twenty mins. (Sometime, I am going to wait her out and just sit and listen to her speak until she just runs out of words to say) And there in lies my dilemma. What do you do with Ellen? Here is what I did do. I endured her for a very short time made a few witty comments and then found a very thin reason (without lying) to excuse myself. It was something to do with getting more cream and adding hot cocco to my coffee. (which is amazing btw) She doesn't listen and she really is just looking for someone to talk at... or maybe she is just dying for companionship. Anyways, I am feeling pretty bad about it and frusterated about it. I know I am supposed to have compassion, but sometimes I don't.
