It is humbling to know that no matter what you do, its not going to cut it
But there is an innate knowledge that we all try to block out.
You are not good enough.
When you hear this, you begin to consider all of "the good" you have done
I am better than a lot of people.
I think I am a pretty good person... for the most part.
You are faced with the reality of your own depravity.
Reminded of your Adam like nature.
We hide from God and justify why
He turned to Eve and said, but I am better than that.
Eve turned to the snake and said, but I am better than that.
Judas turned to the chief priest and said I am better than that.
Who are you better than?
You are much better the worst and much worse than the best.
but don't worry, your a pretty good person...
