Musing from a contemplative mind....

I know I have written about everything but you....



Feeling nostalgic today, thinking about the past. Do you remember
when we met? I do. We spoke about a million things for over
three hours, but I never got your name - I never get anyone's name when
I first meet them - but I talk to them like we are old friends.. and so
it was with you.. So later when I wanted to find you, I walked around campus trying to find you,
but not being able to ask anyone where you were. You were
different, not like the others. I really liked (and still like
that about you) that about you. Never a conformist, some who
bucked the trends. These were the things that I noticed about you.

Do
you remember how we had to go back and figure out when we started
dating cause we didn't actually have date where I asked you out?
So we went back and made up some fictitious time so that we could then
tell people... yeah, it was such and such a day. What day was that
anyway??? The reality was the our friendship just evolved, and
still does today.. Very Sophomoric stuff, but it was important
then, wasn't it? Dates were 50 cent ice cream and mismade pizza's
at Dominoes, perhaps an occasional blown off chapel service( if I could
convince you) so we could have a little picnic.

Do you remember
how you taught me about companionalbe silence? I was always so
afraid of what happens when no one speaks that I would fill the air
with meaningless talk - and you told me that I didn't have to. Do you
remember the day that I asked you to marry me? It was one year
from the date that you and I mutually agreed to tell everyone that we
were going out-lol? We decided that we would exchange gifts - you kept
hinting at a curling iron...and you were so upset when I told you that
I didn't get you one. I kept telling you, if you just wait a
second, you might feel differently. That was really funny. I
just wanted you to know that I remember - I don't live in the past, but
I like to visit because you are there with me too. Yours till... Mr U
