Musing from a contemplative mind....
On time for what?
A recent statistic says that 30% of all airplanes don't leave on time, in baseball you have rain delays, schools cancel classes due to bad weather and how many events promise to start at a certain time and don't deliver the goods. It has become very apparent to me that being on time is a very overrated concept. Why do I strive to be on time, because I don't want to be late. Why do I not want to be late, because I need to be on time. That is circular logic. Really being on time is a very implicit form of peer presure; you show up at such and such an event and everyone is already there, so when you open the door everyone is looking at you wondering why you are late -- or wondering why they had to be so early. We look at the clock as if consulting it as some form of divinity... oh great clock, tell me what I must do next. We never really stop and ask ourselves why does time exist? Many act as if they exist to serve time, I on the other hand reconize that time exists to serve me. I better end this cause its past my bedtime.... oh I guess I am not completely liberated, huh?
