Musing from a contemplative mind....

Have you ever thought to yourself that you are so tired of seeing
so much pain in this world? Then one day your meet a blind
person. Are they fortunate because they are isolated from seeing evil
around them, or is it sad that they can not see the beauty of a
new born baby, or an awe inspiring sunset? Perhaps its
both.



Have you ever thought to yourself, if I hear any more bad news I think I
will break down and cry? Then one day you meet a deaf person. And you
think to yourself, are they fortunate not to hear the hatred of an
argument, or is it sad that they will never be enveloped by the voice of the one
they love, appreciate the subtleties of conversation or experience the
emotion of a moving piece of music? Perhaps its both.



Have you ever wished you could just relax all day and not have to work or do anything with yourself? And then you meet a paralyzed person. Are they fortunate because they are liberated from mundane obligations that we dread to do, or is it sad because they will never feel the grass beneath their feet, enjoy the freedom of being behind the wheel, return the embrace of a friend? Perhaps its both.



Have you ever thought about the gift of sight, sound and touch -is it a burden to bear, or a gift to cherish? Perhaps its both.
