I am sure you have heard about the doubting Thomas.  But have you considered how frustrating it would be to have your most dominant failure spoken about over and over again for all of history?  Its very easy to villify Thomas and say that what he did was wrong.  But that really is the height of hypocrisy.   Thomas wasn't wrong, he was just protecting himself.  Was this mass hysteria, or mental fatigue; he didn't know.  Everyone else had seen Jesus for a moment, but not Thomas.  So when he said I won't believe unless I see it my for myself, people tend to boo and hiss from the comfort of their seats, as they watch the play, of which the script has already been writ.  Was it so wrong to say give me proof?  Jesus was okay with it back then. He is okay with it today.  If God were a God that was, and is, offended or intimidated when someone simply says "prove that you are God" that God would be too small to worship.
