Musing from a contemplative mind....
Things that your not supposed to do
I am the leader of a small Bible study, which I enjoy doing immensely. So last night I asked a relatively straight forward question and I got this completely WAY out of left field answer. Now I am good friends with the person who was giving me the answer so I thought "I am going to let this ride, eventually its going to come around to something that is at least salvageable, or perhaps a really good point..." but, no. So being the good leader I put on my interested face and tried to decipher what this person was actually saying... as I did that a group of people started to snicker at the proceedings. So I bit my lip and stared straight ahead, but really this was a "there is giant elephant in the room moments." We are trying to ignore that which is patently obvious and it is becoming increasingly funny. And then, I cracked. I tried to recompose and pull my Bible over my mouth so that it would be a little less obvious to my friend. But to no avail, once I did that, it was over - everyone in the room started laughing uproariously. I have to say, it really was fall on your butt funny. I just hope that there weren't any hard feelings - sometimes things are just funny. How do you help but laugh?
