Musing from a contemplative mind....
Turning
I am about eclipse the age the Jesus Christ was when he was on the earth and I have to say that it kind of blows my mind. (that's 34 for those of those of you who are ignorant of history or generally math challenged) I remember when I thought anyone who in their 30's was over the hill. But if you are under that age it is going to happen to you too. It won't be that long before you will look back and wonder how did this happen to me? But age is a fact of life and it tremendously relative. The person who is 50 looks at me as though I am a kid - the kid who is 15 looks at me as though I am Methuselah. We make that decision based on our present age. Did you ever notice that when you meet up with a really old person, no not 34, like someone in the 70's (see I am doing it too) and they hear about some little kid they knew who is now in college and they shake their head in disbelief. They say "how could they have grown up so quickly" - but what they are thinking inside is how old does that make me?
The funny thing is I probably look and feel younger than when I was 25...okaaay maybe more like 28. - I am trying to figure out if that is a pathetic attempt to hold on the last vestiges of my youth, or if it is a mark of someone who is remained culturally relevant and is beginning to age gracefully....Or maybe its a little of both. Either way it is the clothes that I am wearing.
